Gujarat: Road accident claims nine lives

Ahmedabad, Oct 12 (UNI) As many as nine people died in three separate road accidents in Gujarat on Saturday, police said.

According to them, four people, including two woman, died when a car hit a stationary truck on Barwala road near Tagadi village in Dhandhuka taluka of Ahmedabad district.


One person among the five seated in the ill fated car was seriously injured and sent to Ahmedabad for treatment.


In another incident, three people died when a bricks laden truck overturned in Marwada village under Dantiwada taluka of Banaskantha district of North Gujarat, police further said.


In a separate mishap, two people lost their lives when their car collided with a speeding truck near Tajpurkui village under Prantij village of neighbouring Sabarkantha district.


Further investigations were underway, police added.
