Gujarat road mishap kills 10

Bhuj, Jul 15 (UNI) At least 10 people including three woman and as many children died in a road mishap near Samatra village under Mankuwa police station in Kutch district on Monday, police said.

Police said that a speeding truck going towards Mata no Madh in the district rammed a motor-fitted wooden cart coming towards Mankuwa on Bhuj-Nakhatrana highway near Dakdai Hanuman temple. Of the 13 people seated in the wooden cart, 10 died on the spot while five others including two persons on a motorcycle which was also hit by the colliding vehicles, injured in the accident.

They have been admitted to a hospital in nearby district headquarter town of Bhuj.

Police said that the situation of three of the injured was critical. The truck driver had fled from the scene leaving his vehicle.
