Guwahati, June 28 (IBNS): Arunachal Pradesh Governor P.B. Acharya, who is on a four days-tour to two districts of Lower and Upper Subansiri reached Daporijo on Wednesday.

Guwahati, June 28 (IBNS): Arunachal Pradesh Governor P.B. Acharya, who is on a four days-tour to two districts of Lower and Upper Subansiri reached Daporijo on Wednesday.

Immediately after arriving at the district headquarters, the governor held a meeting with the district officials.

While interacting with them, the governor exhorted the government officials to go out of their comfort zone to address the challenges of the needy and downtrodden.

“Government officials are the pillars of the government to work for the welfare and development of the people,” Acharya said.

The governor emphasised that they must create awareness about various welfare programmes and schemes of the government such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Mudra Bank etc.

He stressed on motivating the youth towards education, entrepreneurship, preservation of cultural roots and harnessing the natural resources.

"Sponsor some poor students and assist at least five persons to avail benefits from State and Central schemes," the governor advised.

The governor asked the bankers to be more proactive and ensure that people of the district are covered under welfare programmes of the State and Central governments.

Acharya reiterated his deep concern about implementation of mid-day meals, distribution of ration items to the beneficiaries and existence ofcorruption.

He stressed for strict monitoring of implementation of the schemes in the right spirit.

The governor, who came to Daporijo by road, said that roads are the lifeline for development.

Efforts must be there to improve the road communication for all round development of the district, the governor underscored.

He also reviewed the activities under Swachh Bharat Mission, food security, education, horticulture, social welfare and road communication

Deputy Commissioner A.K. Singh briefed the Governor on various welfare programmes and schemes implemented in the district.

Earlier, the governor was received at the place called Puchigeko, boundary point of Upper and Lower Subansiri by Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner A.K. Singh and Superintendent of Police Tarung Gusar.
