Haryana Government broke Model Code, alleges Modi

Hisar, Oct 6 (IBNS): BJP has urged the Election Commission to take note of the controversial land deal that allegedly took place on Sunday in spite of the fact that Model Code of Conduct is already in force in poll-bound Haryana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, who has been alleged to be involved in land-grab case in the past by raking up a fresh land-deal.

Addressing a campaign-rally at Hisar in the state on Monday, Modi asked how despite being that Model Code of Conduct is in force, the Haryana Government approved a controversial land deal that involved Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra.

Modi alleged, “Yesterday despite Model Code of Conduct, the son-in-law was given land. They know after results he won't be given anything.” He also urged the EC to take note of the fact.

"It looks as if the danda (pressure) has come from the top," he added, alleging that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had acted on orders from the Congress leadership.

It is noteworthy to mention that, Vadra’s name cropped up in many illegal land deals in and around Haryana.

Earlier, IAS officer Ashok Khemka had cancelled the deal involving land in Gurgaon between Mr Vadra and real estate giant DLF in 2012.

Leading a scathing attack to the Congress, Modi said, instead of asking what the NDA Government has done in the 60 days so far, Congress should at least talk about their sins they did in the last for 60 years.

“Did Congress ever give an answer for their work for 60 years? And then they ask us! At least talk about your sins for 60 years. “Corruption, land scams and loot. This is what has happened,” he said.

Modi continued with his attack towards Congress by saying “My Government runs on the support of the people of India. I don't need support from jails. I don't need support of mafia.”
