Heavy rain lash West Bengal; five people die by lightning strikes

Kolkata, Jun 25 (IBNS): At least five people died by lightning strikes as heavy rain lashed West Bengal on Monday, media reports said.

A seven-year old boy was killed by lightning strikes in Purulia district while two others in North 24 Parganas.

Among the rest, one woman and a man were killed in South 24 Parganas.

During the rains, a 18-year old person drowned in Sutunga river in Mekhliganj in Cooch Behar district.

The rain has thrown the normal life out of gear even in Kolkata, the capital city of the state.
