Himachal Pradesh Crime: Minor girl gang raped in Kangra dist, six arrested
Kangra/UNI: Kangra police have arrested six youth of Bangali village falling under Nagrota Bagwan police station in this district for allegedly raping a minor girl, making her nude video and also blackmailing her, police said here on Wednesday.
Kangra Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sunil Rana told UNI that on July 4, a minor girl along with her friend on a scooty reached at Ranika Baroh village, falling under Nagrota Bagwan police station and were taking rest when six youth of Bangali village arrived on the spot.
He said that the youth started molesting the girl and on resistance from her friend he was beaten up and injured. The youth allegedly stripped naked the victim minor girl.
The SDPO said that one of the accused youth allegedly raped the victim in presence of her friend and remaining five molested the girl and made a video allegedly after stripping her nude.
He said that the group was blackmailing the girl and even circulated the video in the social media when girl did not succumb to their pressure and threatening her of serious consequences.
Rana said that the victim girl lodged a report in Nagrota Bagwan police station on August 3, when she was fed up with blackmailing and threatening by the youth.
He said that the police arrested all the six accused youth within 12 hours.
He said that a case under sections 376, 376 D, 354, 354 A, 354 B, 506, 321, 323 and 34 IPC and under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the six accused youth.
He further said that the six accused have been identified as Ravi, Parvesh, Rohit, Munish, Vineet and Akshay, all residents of Bengali village near Massal of Nagrota Bagwan.
The SDPO said that mobiles of the accused youth have been seized and sent for forensic laboratory for further investigation. He said that forensic experts will establish and identify the mobile which was used in shooting the video of the girl so that case under IT Act can be proceeded against the culprit.
Rana said that they were produced before the appropriate court last night and were remanded to police custody till August 7. He said that police investigation was in progress.
