Honeymoon remark: Congress demands Ramdev's apology

| | Apr 26, 2014, at 03:43 pm
New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS) The Congress on Saturday demanded an apology from yoga guru Baba Ramdev for allegedly saying that party vice president Rahul Gandhi visits Dalit households for 'honeymoon and picnic'.

"Ramdev's remark Anti Dalit. He must publicly apologise. We would like Modi and BJP to react to Ramdev's anti Dalit remark," tweeted Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh.

On Friday, Ramdev reportedly said in Lucknow: "He (Rahul) goes to houses of Dalits for honeymoon and picnic."

He also hit out at Rahul and said he does not want to marry an Indian girl.

"On one hand, his mother (Congress president Sonia Gandhi) told him that if marries a foreigner, he won't become the PM.  On the other hand, he does not want to marry an Indian girl.

"So now his mother has advised him to first become PM and then marry a foreigner," Ramdev added.
