I feel humiliated, says Captain Amarinder Singh after resigning as Punjab CM
Chandigarh: Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday resigned as Punjab Chief Minister, triggering a new chapter in the political situation of the state.
Amarinder Singh resigned amid infighting with state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Capt Amarinder Singh reached Punjab Raj Bhavan at around 1630 hours and submitted his resignation to Governor Banwarilal Purohit, just minutes before the crucial meeting of Punjab Congress Legislature Party (CLP) scheduled to be held at PPCC office here at 1700 hours today.
"I feel humiliated by the way talks transpired. I spoke with the Congress president this morning, told them that I will be resigning today," he said.

"I am currently in the Congress party. I will discuss with my supporters and decide the future course of action," he said.
He handed over his resignation shortly before the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meet.
The CLP was called by the faction led by Sidhu to discuss 'internal issues', possibly directed against the Chief Minister.
Sidhu has been raising questions over the Chief Minister's governance for quite some time and intensified his attack on Captain Amarinder Singh ever since
he was appointed as the party president, reports UNI.
