New Delhi, Feb 1 (IBNS) Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has said his remarks on former PM Indira Gandhi and current PM Narendra Modi was 'misinterpreted' .

"My remarks were misunderstood and misinterpreted. Anyone who has reported  it has completely misunderstood what I have said," Sinha told media.

Triggering a controversy, Sinha was quoted as saying by media in an event: "The people of India will consign him to the dust, you just have to wait for the next elections."

Sinha later clarified that his remarks were not making reference to Modi.

Union Minister of State for Finance also clarified the remark and tweeted: "Spoke to my father Shri Yashwant Sinha ji in Goa. PTI story completely misquotes him. His statements are on tape and will prove it."

"Shri Yashwant Sinha ji has already called PTI, objected to the story in strongest possible terms, and asked them to issue clarification," he said.
