IAF trainer jet MiG-21 crashes near Gwalior, pilots ejected safely
Gwalior/New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) Indian Air Force (IAF) trainer fighter aircraft MiG-21 on Wednesday crashed near Gwalior air base. The pilots ejected safely.
'Today morning a MiG-21 trainer aircraft on a routine training mission from Gwalior Airbase crashed near the Airfield at around 1000h,' an IAF source said.
A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident.
Since 2016, IAF has lost 27 aircraft, including 15 fighter jets and helicopters in crashes, Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik had said in June 2019.
