I&B Secretary's meeting with FTII student leaders in Mumbai

New Delhi, Oct 10 (IBNS) Information & Broadcasting Secretary Sunil Arora on Saturday held the second round of talks with the student leaders of FTII in Mumbai.

Joint Secretary (Films) Sanjay Murthy, Director General, Films Division, Mukesh Sharma, Director, FTII, Prashant Pathrabe and FTII Registrar U C Bodke were also present.

The Students’ Association was represented by seven members and Aruna Raje Patil of GRAFTI .

"In today’s meeting, it was decided that a meeting of the student leaders of FTII with the Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will be convened in the near future," read a government statement.

It may be recalled that Secretary, I&B Sunil Arora had held an earlier round of negotiations with the FTII student leaders on Oct 7 in which the Government and the student leaders discussed about proposals to make FTII an Institution of Excellence.

In the October 7th meeting, Secretary I&B had set up the Mukesh Sharma Committee to look into the issues of operational flexibility and procurement of equipment for FTII. The Committee also held discussions with student leaders in Mumbai today to discuss the issues.
