Mumbai/IBNS: The Mumbai Dabbawalas, who have been delivering home-cooked meals to Mumbaikars at their workplaces since 1890, have decided to halt their services in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, said media reports.

The Dabbawalas, who are considered the lifeline of the financial capital of India just like the local trains, deliver food to more than 2,00,000 people at their offices daily. As per reports, the Dabbawalas will resume their work from April 1.

The Mumbai Dabbawalas are known for their error-free and timely services. They received special recognition in 2010 when Harward Business School graded their service "Six Sigma" which means they can make fewer than 3.4 mistakes per million transactions, said a Time Now report.
