Imposition of 144 prevents Tejshwi Yadav from holding rally in Bhagalpur

PATNA, Aug 17 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav held a 'dharna' outside the station premises in Bhagalpur after the local administration did not allow him to hold a public meeting he was to address on Thursday.

Tejashwi, who is leading a campaign against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, after the latter joined hands with the BJP, was to hold a meeting in Bhagalpur to expose alleged “links” between Srijan, an NGO, and the politicians, but suddenly the administration imposed prohibitory orders in the area, leading to automatic cancellation of Tejashwi's rally.

“I was to hold a meeting in Bhagalpur over Srijan scam but the chief minister imposed section 144 in the areas out of panic,” Tejahswi tweeted on Thursday.

He alleged the prohibitory orders were imposed to prevent him from exposing those involved in the scam and said the DM and SP didn’t take his calls. He also alleged he was denied a room in Circuit House or the Guest House.

“Nitishji, I had never imagined you will stoop to such a low level,” he tweeted further.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad also launched attacks on the chief minister for cancelling his son’s meeting in Bhagalpur.

“By getting Tejashwi rally cancelled, Nitish has proved he is involved in the scam,” Prasad has tweeted.
