India celebrating 67th Republic Day today

New Delhi, Jan 26 (IBNS) India is celebrating its 67th Republic Day on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on the occasion.

He tweeted: "Republic Day greetings to all my fellow Indians. "

He paid tribute to the  framers of the Constitution.

"Tributes to all great personalities who framed our Constitution. I salute Dr. Ambedkar for his efforts as Chairman of Drafting Committee," Modi said.

Security has been tightened across Delhi where the key function to celebrate the day will be held.

In New Delhi's historic Rajpath President Pranab Mukherjee, who is the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, is all set to witness the military might that will be on display on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Hamid Ansari and other dignitaries will be attending the event.

This year, French President  Francois Hollande is attending the celebration as the Chief Guest.

Republic Day celebrations will also be held in other parts of the nation.
