India, Japan eager to enhance cooperation in connectivity, commerce and other sector: posts Narendra Modi after meeting Fumio Kishida

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Saturday discussed ways of enhancing cooperation in key sectors, including connectivity, and commerce, with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the G20Summit here.

Modi tweeted: "Held productive talks with PM @kishida230. We took stock of India-Japan bilateral ties and the ground covered during India's G20 Presidency and Japan's G7 Presidency. We are eager to enhance cooperation in connectivity, commerce and other sectors."

Several world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, arrived in India to attend the G20 Summit.

New Delhi is hosting the summit from Saturday.

In a big win for India's G20 Presidency, the leaders of the grouping on Saturday reached a consensus on the 'New Delhi Declaration.'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced that G20 had received consensus on a leaders' declaration.

"Have just got the good news that due to the hard work of our teams and your cooperation, a consensus has been reached on the New Delhi G20 Leaders Summit Declaration," PM Modi said while addressing the second session of the Leaders' Summit here on Saturday.
