India-US get ready to re-establish Homeland Security Dialogue

Washington: US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas spoke on Monday with India’s Ambassador to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu when the two leaders discussed the issue of further strengthening the partnership between the Government of India and the Department of Homeland Security.  

Secretary Mayorkas and Ambassador Sandhu agreed to re-establish the U.S.-India Homeland Security Dialogue and to discuss important issues such as cybersecurity, emerging technology and addressing violent extremism, read an official statement issued by the US Homeland Security.

During their discussion, they highlighted the positive engagement that has already taken place during the Biden Administration, including with the Quad, which addressed concrete commitments to cooperate on COVID-19, climate actions, and cybersecurity.

Secretary Mayorkas and Ambassador Sandhu also recognized the important contributions of students and entrepreneurs that have made both countries stronger.
