India Vice President Ansari condemns the Orlando mass shooting
New Delhi, Jun 13 (IBNS): Vice President of India, M. Hamid Ansari has condemned the mass shooting in Florida, US.
He said that there can be no justification for such barbaric and reprehensible acts and pluralist and open societies that stand for peace and share values of humanism have to work together in dealing with this scourge.
Following is the text of the Vice President’s message:
“I am shocked by the horrific attack against innocent civilians in Orlando, Florida. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those whose loved ones have been killed and injured.
There can be no justification for such barbaric and reprehensible acts. Terrorism today has global reach, no city remains safe. Pluralist and open societies that stand for peace and share values of humanism have to work together in dealing with this scourge.
We, in India, stand with the people and Government of the United States of America in their moment of grief and pray for the bereaved families and early recovery of the injured.”
