India will wipe tears of every Nepali: Modi in his 'Mann Ki Baat'
New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said he did not feel like sharing his 'Mann Ki Baat', as he 'was devastated' by the Nepal earthquake and said India will wipe the tears of every Nepali.
"Today I was not feeling like speaking...I am saddened by the loss of lives due to earthquake in Nepal. The sorrow of the people of Nepal is our sorrow. We will do everything possible to wipe the tears of every Nepalis," Modi said his his monthly radio address.
Referring to Bihar storm, unseasonal rainfall destroying crops and now the Nepal quake which has claimed about 1900 lives, Modi said he felt anguished by the recent fury of nature.
"I can understand what the people of Nepal are passing through right now. We have stared efforts to rescue people in India and Nepal. We have also sent sniffer dogs to search for people alive under debris," he said.
Stating that India never lags behind in any helping in rescue operations, Modi said, "We have rescued several Indians from Yemen."
"In the past few days, wherever we went, we lauded from across world for the efforts India took to rescue people in strife-torn Yemen.. Our evacuation mission in Yemen was widely praised," said Modi in his seventh address to the nation on radio.
"Our country thinks for the peace and development of the world. And if need be, Indians can dedicate their life," Modi added.
Stressing on Dr. BR Ambedkar's ideals, Modi expressed his happiness on the government of India having approved the construction of his memorial.
"Ambedkar always stressed on education for all. We have to pledge that no girl remain uneducated in any corner of the country," Modi said.
Modi also congratulated Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal for their achievements.
He also expressed his anguish that some people abused Indian cricketers after thy lost in the Semi Finals of the 2015 world cup.
