New Delhi, Mar 9 (IBNS): An Indian medical student has been attacked in Russia by unknown men, officials said.

Assuring help, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the student, who has been identified as Yasir, is undergoing treatment in Kazan Trauma Centre in Russia.

She said an Indian doctor is treating him.

"I have got complete report on Yasir. An Indian Doctor is treating him in Kazan Trauma Centre in Russia.," Swaraj tweeted.

"Our Embassy officials will go and see Yasir in hospital tomorrow. We will bear all expenses on his treatment," she said.

Swaraj replied after an SOS was tweeted that Yasir was attacked by  "local goons" in Russia.
