It is pertinent to note that a well-coordinated joint operation by the army and police is underway in many areas, including Shahsitar, Gursai, Sanai, and Sheendara Top, in connection with neutralising the terrorists who are believed to have fled into a forest after the attack, reported India TV.

According to reports, 20 people have been detained so far.

At least five Indian security forces personnel were injured when terrorists were engaged in a gunfight with them in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch region on Saturday.

The attack occurred when the forces were moving towards Sanai Top in the district's Surankote area.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby military hospital for medical treatment.

IAF's Corporal Vikky Pahade died later.
