Islamic Research Foundation moves Delhi HC challenging ban

New Delhi, Jan 14 (IBNS): Islamic preacher and televangelist Zakir Naik's Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) has moved Delhi High Court challenging the government's ban on the NGO, reports said.

The court has accepted the appeal and has directed Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Sanjay Jain, who's representing the union to produce all the required documents.

Advocate S Hari Haran, who's representing IRF, was quoted in the media as saying, "the impugned notification failed to appreciate that there is no material to indicate that Dr. Zakir Naik has been aiding or instigating any kind of anti-national activities."

Earlier the government found Naik's NGO guilty of 'unlawful' practices.

The Union Home Ministry has outlawed the foundation for five years
