Jaitley to visit Western Naval Command today

| | Jun 07, 2014, at 05:22 pm
Mumbai, June 7 (IBNS) Defence Minister Arun Jaitley will on Saturday visit the Western Naval Command here and review its operational preparedness.

Jaitley might also see the salvaged INS Sindhurakshak submarine during his visit.

On Aug 14, 2013, an explosion led to a massive fire on board Indian Navy submarine INS Sindhurakshak at the Naval dockyard in Mumbai. At least 18 people, who were trapped inside the Russian-built vessel, were killed in the incident.

Jaitley will also commission two fast-attack vessels - ICGS Achook and ICGS Agrim - of the Indian Coast Guard.
