Jammu and Kashmir: Drug peddler arrested, heroin recovered in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) A drug peddler was arrested on Wednesday and heroin recovered from his possession in the summer capital Srinagar, a police spokesman said.

He said a check point was established under police station Ram Munshi Bagh in Srinagar. During checking, a drug peddler, identified as Mohsin Bashir Bhat, resident of Athwajan, was arrested after some quantity of heroin was recovered from his possession.

He said in this regard, a case FIR No 30/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh and investigation has been taken up.

The spokesman said the community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, he warned.
