Jammu and Kashmir: IUST holds 7th meeting of Academic Council
Srinagar: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Thursday convened its 7th meeting of the academic council of the varsity.
The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor IUST Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi while Prof. JaharSaha, Prof. ManjuJaidka, Prof. M M S Beg, Prof. MoinUddin, Prof. S K Koul and Prof. RakeshSehgal also attended the meeting through virtual mode.
Prof Ashok Kumar, Deans of various schools of IUST, Registrar and other members of the council attended the meeting in person.
Before proceeding for the meeting, the Council observed two minutes silence in remembrance of Prof Mushtaq A Qureshi, former dean academic affairs IUST and Hassina Wani, Principal Nursing College IUST who left for heavenly abode in 2020-21.
Prof Mushtaq Siddiqi while welcoming the members informed them about the progress made by the University on the academic as well as on the infrastructural front and gave a detailed account of the academic and other allied achievements through a PowerPoint presentation.
After briefing the members about the University and its functioning, the agenda items were discussed, and some important decisions were taken as well.
The members placed on record their appreciation for the efforts and contribution of the entire IUST fraternity for the growth and development of the University.
The members lauded the efforts of the university in developing the state-of-the-art infrastructure, introduction of new academic programs, strengthening of research in order to achieve highest standards of research and learning through innovations.
The members expressed hope that the University shall continue to grow in future as well.
