Jammu and Kashmir: Jawan martyred in Pakistan firing along LoC in Poonch

Jammu, Sep 2 (UNI) One Army jawan attained martyrdom as Pakistan violated ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Spokesperson said here on Monday.

"Pakistan Army on Sunday evening resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the line of control in Poonch," he further said.

In the exchange of fire, Grenadier Hemraj Jat, 23, belonging to village Bhadoon, Tehsil Roopangarh, District Ajmer, Rajasthan, attained martyrdom.

He and is survived by his Mother Dhaka Devi, he revealed.

Indian Army responded strongly and effectively causing damage to major Pakistan Army defences.

Grenadier Hemraj Jat was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier and the Nation would always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty, the Spokesperson added.
