Jammu and Kashmir: Police arrest one LeT terrorist from Anantnag
Srinagar: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested an “active terrorist” of proscribed terror outfit Lashker-e-Toiba in Anantnag, officials said.
“Incriminating materials and a pistol have been recovered from the LeT terrorist arrested in south Kashmir's Anantnag district,” police said.
During surprise naka checking, movement of a suspicious person was noticed, who was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
He has been identified as Shahid Thoker, a resident of Nossipora Keegam Shopian.
As per police records, the arrested “terrorist” is a “categorized terrorist” as he had recently joined the terror folds of proscribed terror outfit LeT.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
