Jammu and Kashmir Police committed to encourage sports: IGP Singh

Jammu/UNI: Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir Police have refined coaches to shape up budding talent, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh here on Sunday said that the force is committed to encouraging all forms of sports in the state.

"J&K Police is committed to encouraging sports in all forms and I hope that the participants in future will lead the J&K Tennis teams at the national and international level competitions," Singh said while speaking at the closing ceremony of 10-day long lawn tennis tournament here at Gazetted Officer’s Mess, Gulshan Ground, Jammu.

The competition was organised by the Jai Hind Sports Club.

The Jammu Zone Police Chief said that Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent and it needs to be nurtured under professional guidance.

He also felicitated the winners and runners up in different categories with prizes comprising Aryan and Ranveer in Under-18, in Mens Doubles, Vikram Gupta-Dhirendra Verma and Deepak Singh-Savant Koul, in above 35, Vikram Gupta- Pawan and in Mens Singles -- Deepak Singh and Aaryaman respectively.

The top cop also appreciated the role of officers of the BSF, CRPF and ED for their contributions in conducting the activity successfully.
