Jammu police nab three criminals with weapons, drugs

Jammu/UNI: The Jammu Police on Tuesday arrested three criminals with weapons and contraband of drugs in separate incidents here.

Police spokesperson said that one notorious smuggler who was evading arrest in an attempt to murder case and was absconding since 2019 was arrested with a sharp edged weapon and 22 grams of Heroin from Miran Sahib area.

Arrested person was identified as Manpreet Singh alias Sartaj of Simbhal Camp, Miran Sahib.

He tried to escape the check point but was arrested after a hot chase, said the police spokesman.

In a separate incident, police have caught two miscreants along with sharp edged weapons from the Ranbir Singh Pura area.

On seeing the Patrolling party the duo tried to flee but were apprehended by the police team, said the spokesman.

The arrested persons were identified as Abhi Sharma alias Kannu of Satriyan RS Pura and Sunny Sharma of RS Pura.

During search, two sharp edged weapons were recovered from their possession while a case under relevant sections was registered and investigation started.
