Jharkhand: Boy drowns in pond in Godda

Godda, May 12 (UNI) An eight year old boy today lost his life as he was drowned in a pond located in Chilkara village under Pathargama Police Station area of this district.

The deceased has been identified as Nitish Kumar Ravidas (8). The boy alongwith his other friends had gone to take bath in the pond but unfortunately he went into deeper water and was drowned. The other friends who were at the side raised an alarm after which locals rushed to the rescue of the child.

The villagers somehow managed to take out the boy and took him to the near by primary health care center from where he was referred to Sadar Hospital Godda but died on the way.
