Jharkhand: Man killed for allegedly practicing witchcraft

Daltonganj, Sep 16 (UNI) A man was hacked to death for allegedly practising witchcraft at Murmatu village under Pandu Police Station in Palamu district.

The deceased has been identified as Chalitar Baiga (50). The man who allegedly practised witchcraft had come to the house of one Harihar Pal to sacrifice a fowl in the house.

However, Chalitar was sleeping on a cot inside the house. This angered the son of Harihar and he attacked the former with a sharp weapon due to which he died on the spot. Following the incident the accused fled from the spot.

Police was informed about the incident and the body sent for postmortem. Later the accused was also nabbed.
