Jitendra Singh to inaugurate National Workshop on Best Practices in Citizen Centric Governance

New Delhi, Sept 9 (IBNS) Union Minister of State for Northeast, Jitendra Singh will inaugurate a two-day National Workshop on Best Practices in Citizen Centric Governance with the objective of realising the Vision of the Prime Minister of Good Governance through 'Minimum Government Maximum Governance', on September 10, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

The Workshop, being organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, will showcase the Individual, team and organisational efforts of the ‘Team India’ through presentations from different states on ‘Innovative Good Governance Initiatives that have been conferred the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration and National Awards on e-Governance. 

These include initiatives in Citizen Centric Administration, Women Empowerment, Efficient Resource Utilization, Capacity Building as well as use of e-Governance Tools in Citizen Centric Service Delivery. Theme-based discussion will be held to cover a wide range of Public Service Delivery Systems in the goal to empower the last mile and the common man. 

Presentations on subjects would include – ‘Karnataka MobileOne (Karnataka); Self Attestation and Rationalization of Affidavits for reforming Public Service Delivery (Punjab); SAKALA – No More Delays – We deliver in Time (Karnataka); Madhya Pradesh Guarantee of Public Service Delivery Act; LADO (An Innovative Initiative for eradication of Child Marriages) (M.P.); Surguja Fulwari Initiative (Chhattisgarh); Saving the Womb - Addressing malpractices in implementation of RSBY (Bihar); Skill Development Programme to impart vocational training to the tribal youth (Maharashtra); Revival of Sasur Khaderi and Thithora Lake (U.P.); Canal Top Solar Power Plant: Clean and Green Energy (Gujarat); Cervical Cancer Screening (Tamil Nadu); Passport Seva Project (Ministry of External Affairs); Kanyashree Online 2.0 (West Bengal); Effective Vehicles Database Management (Karnataka) and Suraksha Setu – Safe City Surat (Gujarat). 

These Sessions of the presentations will be followed by Panel Discussions. More than 300 delegates including senior officials of the Central and State governments besides, representatives from various institutions are participating in the event from all over the country.
