J&K attack: 2 CRPF men killed, 9 injured

Srinagar, Feb 20 (IBNS) Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed while nine others were injured on Saturday when militants attacked their convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar highway near Pampore town in Pulwama district of Kashmir region, police said.

After the attack, three militants entered nearby multi-storeyed Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) building.

"The building has been surrounded and an operation has been started. Intermittent firing is going on," the officer said.

CRPF spokesman Bhavesh Cahudhury confirmed the death of two troopers.

He further said nine other CRPF jawans were injured in the militant attack.

Deceased CRPF men were identified as Head Constable Bola Singh and driver of the vehicle R K Ran.
