J&K govt formation: PDP, BJP likely to join hands?
Srinagar, Feb 12 (IBNS): The stalemate in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to end with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) all set to join hands with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to media reports, PDP's Mufti Mohammed Sayeed would be the chief minister while the BJP's Nirmal Singh will be the deputy chief minister.
Neither the PDP, which emerged as the single largest party with 28 seats, nor the BJP with 25 could get the absolute majority that requires winning 44 seats.
Following the logjam, President's rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir on Jan 9 after President Pranab Mukherjee gave assent to the state's Governor's recommendation as Omar Abdullah stepped down as caretaker Chief Minister.
