J&K: One cop killed in suspected militant attack

Srinagar, July 15 (IBNS) Suspected militants attacked a police station and killed one police personnel injured seven others in Kulgam area of south Kashmir on Friday.

According to reports, militants lobbed hand grenade inside a police station that exploded in the premises, creating panic inside it.

Shortly after the grenade attack, suspected militants fired upon the policemen, wounding at least seven of them.

“Seven cops were wounded in the attack who were airlifted in a chopper to 92 base Army hospital in Srinagar. One of them later succumbed to his injuries,” said a senior police official.

Soon after the attack, massive manhunt was launched to nab the attackers, the officer added.
