JKLF-called Kashmir bandh on Saturday

Srinagar, Apr 11 (IBNS) Separatist Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has called for a Kashmir bandh on Saturday over the issue of a separate composite colony for Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

Other separatists  like SAS Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.are supporting the bandh call.

Hurriyat activists on Friday took out processions shouting slogans over the issue of setting up of an exclusive township for migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.

Police asked the protesters to disperse in order to maintain law and order but the youth refused and started pelting stones at the cops prompting them to fire tear gas shells.

Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the reason they are opposing the idea of a separate township for pandits is that it will create a sense of alienation among communities..

Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has clarified in the state assembly that there are no plans of setting up separate township for the Kashmiri Pandits but steps will be taken for the return of the minority community to the Valley.
