New Delhi, Nov 6 (IBNS): The Delhi Police on Sunday said the protesters and mother of Najeeb Ahmed, who were demonstrating against alleged administrative inaction in the case of a missing student, were not manhandled.

"During JNU protest today  none have been manhandled," the police said in a statement.

The police said Najeeb Ahmed's mother Fatima Nafees was 'duly attended to by lady police officers and now being dropped to her place to stay'.

Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University demonstrated  close to the India Gate here over missing student Najeeb Ahmed.

Left activists had earlier alleged that Najeeb Ahmed, a student of  the School of Biotechnology, reportedly went missing after he had a fight with activists of the ABVP last month.

The ABVP has denied its involvement in the matter.
