Karnataka govt employee murdered at home while husband and son away

A 37-year-old Karnataka government employee, working as a geologist, was fatally stabbed at her residence in Bengaluru, media reports said.

The assailants forcibly entered Pratima's home and murdered her.

She held the position of Deputy Director in the Mines and Geology Department of Karnataka.

At the time of the incident, she was alone in her residence, as her husband was visiting his hometown, Teerthahalli.

Pratima was dropped off at her home by her driver around 8 pm on Saturday.

Concerned about the lack of response to calls from her brother, he went to check on her the following morning, only to discover her lifeless body, officials stated.
 

In reaction to the tragedy, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the case was being probed and the motive behind the murder remained unknown.

A case has been registered by the police, who are currently making efforts to locate the killers.

Police suspect that individuals known to the victim may be involved in the crim
