Karnataka Govt likely to invite CBI probe into IAS officer's death
Reports on Saturday said the government is set to make an announcement in this regard in the assembly on Monday as Congress president Sonia Gandhi has advised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to hand over the probe to the central agency.
"The Congress President has advised the Karnataka Chief Minister to hand over the inquiry into IAS officer D K Ravi's death to the CBI," Congress leader in charge of Karnataka, Digvijaya Singh, told NDTV.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said o he would make his stand on the death of IAS officer D K Ravi clear on the floor of the legislative assembly on Monday.
Siddaramaiah told media perons that he will not hide anything relating to the death of the officer who was found hanging at his residence on Monday.
" I will give all the details on the floor of the House when the assembly is convened on Monday. I will give all the details surrounding the death of the officer. We have no intention of protecting anyone or concealing any of the facts relating to this case, " he said.
The Chief Minister has so far been assertive in declaring that the CID of the state police well-equipped to handle the case while ruling out any possibility of handing over the case to CBI.
The demand for a CBI probe has been widespread from among political parties, social orgnisations and individuals of all sections of society.
