Karunanidhi's son Stalin accused of slapping Chennai metro co-passenger
Chennai, Jul 1 (IBNS) Tamil Nadu politician and former DMK supremo M Karunanidhi's son M K Stalin has embraced an controversy after being caught on camera slapping a co-passenger during a joy ride in metro.
In a video that is in wide circulation, the DMK leader is seen slapping a passenger with the back of his hand.
Media reports quoted Stalin's office as saying that he was only asking the man to get away from woman passengers and "inadvertently touched him" due to a train jolt.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa condemned Stalin's behaviour saying it is unbecoming of a lawmaker.
"Stalin's behavior doesn't augur well as an MLA. All are equal in public places. Nobody is inferior. Stalin should maintain dignity," she said in a statement.
The Chennai Metro was flagged off by the Chief Minister on Monday.
Stalin took a ride on the train along with his supporters. DMDK leader Vijayakant, the opposition Leader in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, also took a ride.
