Kashmir: Amit Shah summons BJP ministers over rift with ally PDP

| @indiablooms | Jun 19, 2018, at 11:10 am

New Delhi, Jun 19 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah has summoned its ministers from the state of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss the end of Ramzan ceasefire, that upset the saffron outfit's ally People's Democratic Party (PDP), media reports said.

Shah will meet the BJP ministers in the national capital at 2 pm on Tuesday.

The rift between the two parties- which run the Jammu and Kashmir government- became prominent once again after the Centre decided to resume the anti-terror operations.

The PDP still maintains that the central government must reach out to the separatists to resolve the crisis in the valley.

In a recent incident, just two days before Eid al-Fitr, journalist Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead outside his office by terrorists in Srinagar.

Following Bukhari's killing, a twenty-year-old youth was killed during a clash between the policemen and protesters in South Kashmir’s Anantnag town even as the police officials said the death occurred owing to the explosion of a hand grenade.

Media report said the young man was killed during "clashes" after the Eid prayers but later police said in an official statement that "preliminary investigation reveals that a hand grenade exploded resulting in the death of Sheraz Ahmad due to splinter injuries and his right hand got fully damaged."
