Kashmir: BSF recovers huge cache of arms on Akhnoor border
New Delhi/UNI: In an intelligence based operation, the Border Security Force on Thursday recovered a big cache of arms ahead of a fence in sub sector Pargwal on Akhnoor International Border.
The recoveries include 1 AK 47 Rifle, 20 rounds of AK 47, 2 Rifle Magazines, 2 made in Italy pistols, 40 pistol rounds and 4 pistol magazines, the BSF said.
The BSF had intelligence inputs about Pakistan based elements attempting to smuggle weapons into Indian territory.
According to the BSF, troops were kept on high alert and the area between fencing and the International Border was regularly patrolled.
"Today in the morning our zero line checking, the BSF party recovered a bag near IB containing Arms/ Ammunition which was to be smuggled into the Indian side and thus averted a major tragedy," it said.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG SK Singh said that the BSF troops seized huge amounts of arms on the International Border and once again exposed the evil designs of Pakistan based Anti National Elements and made a big dent on their nefarious activities.
