Kashmir crisis: All party meet expected to find resolution

New Delhi, Sep 7 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is holding an all-party meeting on Wednesday in New Delhi where a blue print for the resolution to the Kashmir crisis is likely to be drawn up, according to media reports.

The all-party meeting is being attended by 26 lawmakers from 20 parties who were part of the delegation that visited Jammu and Kashmir.


Prior to the all-party meeting on Wednesday, the Home Minister also met met Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag


News channel NDTV on Wednesday claimed that it has been able to access the summary note that is being discussed at the meeting.


Excerpts (in no particular order) from the note, according to NDTV, include:

The Jammu & Kashmir government has failed to control the situation

Separatists should be isolated and dealt with separately

Misleading statements given by political leaders

Rural south Kashmir sees a lot of unrest

Control people on the streets before they create law and order problem

Curfew should be lifted and schools reopened

Movement of civilians should be hassle free

Release prisoner, stop harassment of youth

Relief packages for those killed in civil unrest

Compensation to those with eye injuries

Use of pellet guns stopped

Daily hartal calendar issued by Pak under the name of separatists.


Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday as well as  top BJP leaders of the BJP, including party chief Amit Shah and Finance Minster Arun Jaitley.
