Srinagar/UNI: Security forces busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district by arresting two terror associates of the group, police said on Friday.

The two were identified by police as Zaid Hassan Malla and Mohammad Arif Channa, both residents of Baramulla town.

"They were involved in the cross-border smuggling of arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan-based terror handlers and its further distribution to LeT terrorists for carrying out terror activities," a police statement said.

The two were arrested by a joint party of Baramulla Police and the Army's 8 Rashtriya Rifles in the border area of Uri.

"During naka checking at Paranpeelan Bridge Uri, the joint team noticed two suspected persons who were coming from Dachi towards Paranpeelan Bridge and tried to flee while noticing the party but were apprehended tactfully.

"During their personal search, twoGlock pistols, two pistol magazines, two pistol silencers, five Chinese grenades, and 28 live pistol rounds were taken from them and taken into custody immediately," police said.

A case under the Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered at Police Station Uri, and investigations were taken up.
