Kashmir violence: Death toll touches 35

Srinagar, July 12 (IBNS): The death toll in the ongoing violence that erupted after the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani on Friday evening has risen to 35 with the death of a youth in Kupwara town of North Kashmir on Tuesday.
The Kashmir Valley is on edge after the killing top Hizb commander Burhan Wani along with his two associates on Friday evening in South Kashmir.
 
Since Friday night, 35 persons mostly teenagers died during violent clashes with security forces in different areas of South Kashmir.
 
One Kashmir police personnel also killed during protests with unruly mob in Anantang on Sunday.
 
About 1400 people have been injured so far in the clashes, according to reports.
 
The state government has urged the Kashmiri separatist groups to appeal to people for calm and peace.
 
Kashmir separatist groups are house arrested by the state authorities after the killing of Burhan Muzaffar Wani.
 
On precautionary measure mobile internet, railway services and Amarnath Yatra
remain to be suspended since Friday evening.
 
Authorities have put severe restrictions in most areas of Srinagar city and four districts of south Kashmir, officials said.
 
They said the decision to impose restrictions was taken to maintain law and order in the Valley. 
 
On Monday, restrictions were imposed only in some parts of Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag and other parts of the districts.
 
Wani, a 22-year-old commander of Kashmir's largest militant group HM, was killed along with two associates during a brief gun battle with government forces on Friday.
 
Authorities handed the body of Wani, viewed by locals as a hero since he joined the rebel group at the age of 15, over to his family on early Saturday morning.
