Kejriwal slams PM Modi for remaining silent on Gujarat anti-Dalit violence

New Delhi, July 24 (IBNS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal once again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday for remaining "silent" on the violence against Dalits in Gujarat.
"PM Modi's continued silence on dalit attacks proves that these attacks are taking place with active support from top BJP leadership," Kejriwal tweeted.

He also slammed the state government over the issue.

"Gujarat is very very angry against Anandiben Patel n BJP. Next year, Guj election results cud surprise everyone," Kejriwal posted.

Adding to the waves of politicians flocking the interior of Gujarat  in the wake of few Dalit youths being thrashed and shamed in public by self styled cow protectors, Kejriwal on Friday visited Una and assailed the BJP-run state Government, sounding a warning against caste oppression.

"The BJP government in Gujarat is anti-Dalit and oppressing Dalits. Those being oppressed by the BJP will teach the party a lesson," media reports had quoted  Kejriwal as saying.

He visited the family of one of victims in Una,360 km from Ahmedabad.

"We demand action against Dalit atrocities," the Aam Aadmi Party chief had said.

Gujarat, going to Assembly polls next year, is one of the states the AAP has been eyeing for expansion beyond Delhi.

Kejriwal also met activists who attempted suicide over the past week.

Una has been in the centre stage of a national outrage  over the flogging and shaming of four Dalit men for skinning a dead cow on July 11.

After Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's visit on Thursday, it was  Kejriwal's turn as the issue gifted the anti-BJP forces an opportunity to unite launch a fresh attack.
