Kiren Rijiju to visit Assam tomorrow

New Delhi, June 6(IBNS): In a bid to take stock of the security situation in Assam, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju is all set to visit the state on Saturday, reports said.

 He will visit the state a day after security forces recovered the bodies of  two policemen, who were killed during an encounter with suspected  Karbi Peoples Liberation Tigers (KPLT) militants at Rumpung area along the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Hamren Police district Superintendent of Police Nityananda Goswami and one of his personal security officer (PSO) Rahul Nunisa.

Their bodies were recovered by security forces on Friday.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked security officials to take strong action against militants.
