Kolkata: Arun Jaitley congratulates Mamata Banerjee for her massive victory

Kolkata, May 27 (IBNS): After attending the re-elected Trinamool Congress (TMC) government's swearing-in-ceremony, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, congratulated Mamata Banerjee for her resounding success in the recently concluded Bengal assembly election, during a press conference at the Kolkata Press Club.
"Assembly elections in West Bengal and Kerala was very important. In Bengal, Mamata Banerjee won a massive victory and is forming government here for the second time. Want to congratulate her at first. I took part in her oath-taking-ceremony for constitutional obligations," Arun Jaitley said.

"BJP's organization was not big ever in Bengal. Results of 2016's assembly election in Bengal undoubtedly proved that an anti-Left feeling is becoming stronger in the state. Our aim is to occupy the space of Lefts and to become the principal opposition party of Bengal. Our seats and vote-percentages in Bengal and Kerala have been increased, which are very encouraging. We are happy with the results," Jaitley further said.

Claiming that BJP has established good governance in the Centre he said, "We have re-established government's credibility, which was ruined during the UPA-I and UPA-II governments."

Protesting against alleged post-poll violence across the state, West Bengal unit of BJP and other major opposition parties, including the Left Front and Congress, boycotted Mamata-led-government's swearing-in-ceremony, while BJP's two ministers- Arun Jaitley and Babul Supriyo, were present there as guests.
