Kolkata: LF observes Netaji's 118th birthday

Kolkata, Jan 23 (IBNS): West Bengal Left Front on Friday remembered freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 118 th birthday in Kolkata.

Like previous years, they had arranged a programme under the Netaji's statue at Esplanade area in Kolkata.

Left Front chairman Biman Basu, opposition leader of West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suryakanta Mishra, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Ashim Dasgupta, Communist Party of India (CPI) secretory Manju Kumar Majumder, All India Forward Bloc leader Ashok Ghosh, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) leader Khiti Goswami and other LF leaderships joined the event.

West Bengal's Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee and Tourism Minister Bratya Basu went to the venue as the representative of the state government and garlanded Netaji statue.

The Left Front also arranged a rally led by Biman Basu from Subodh Mallick Square to Esplanade.
