Kolkata: Two sweepers of Beliaghata ID hospital admitted to isolation ward with Covid-19 symptoms

Kolkata/IBNS: Two cleaning staff of Kolkata's Beliaghata ID hospital, where all three novel Coronavirus infected patients of West Bengal are undergoing treatments, have been admitted to the same hospital's isolation ward with Covid-19 symptoms, officials said on Saturday.

Sources in the hospital said that those middle-aged sweepers had been assigned to clean the isolation wards of Beliaghata ID hospital.

"Those cleaning staff, who were admitted on Saturday morning with Covid-19 symptoms including high body temperature and cough, are under surveillance in the isolation ward," a medical officer of Beliaghata ID hospital said.

"Their swab samples have been sent to NICED for Covid-19 test and the reports are expected tonight," the official added.

The Coronavirus, which is believed to have originated from China's Wuhan region, have now spread in different corners of the globe.

Four people have died due to Coronavirus in India so far.
