Lakhimpur Kheri: Ashish Mishra alias Monu, who is the son of  Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni, was arrested on Saturday after questioning by the Special Investigation Team in connection with the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri region of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday where eight people, including four farmers, were killed.

Ashish is accused of running over the farmers.

Ashish appeared before the Crime Branch earlier in the day for questioning.

FIR has been registered against Ashish Mishra under Sections 302, 120B and 304A 147,148,149 ,279 and 338 of the IPC.

Eight people, including four farmers and a journalist, died in the Lakhimpur Kheri after being run over by a convoy of cars, including one owned by Ajay Mishra.

The first car drove into a group of protesters, who were walking with flags, at an unexpectedly high speed, followed by the two other cars.
